What inspired you to work at Lantz Financial and when did you join the team?
I met Mike while I was employed at Aurora Country Club, and I joined the Lantz Team in February of 2018. I was excited but also nervous because at that time I had very little background in finance. However, when I started at Lantz Financial, we were at the very beginning of our transition to a fully independent firm. Working on the transition exposed me to so many important aspects of the financial industry and the operational needs that are vital to serving our clients and their long-term needs. More importantly, it was a great opportunity for me to meet and get to know clients as I helped them through the transition process.
What is your background including any unique skills or characteristics that you want to share?
I received my bachelor’s degree in 2017 from Aurora University in disability studies while playing softball all four years. As a successful student athlete while also working to pay my own way through college I know the difficulty and importance of handling many different things at one time. I think this experience has prepared me to work with so many of our clients and their unique situations, and it has also helped me better understand the various challenges our clients deal with throughout their lives as well. In 2022 I became a Certified Estate and Trust Specialist™ and currently working on becoming a Certified Annuity Specialist™
What are one or two things you do for clients on a day to day basis?
One of my favorite things about my role is that every day is different, and every client is different. In serving our clients, I am trying to figure out how I can make that person’s life a little bit easier that day by providing a solution for them and making sure they know we are focused on their needs. When I am not interacting with clients directly, I am still concentrating on service working behind the scenes with annuities, supporting the income plans, and portfolios we manage for our clients.
Outside of the office, what would someone find interesting about you?
I grew up on a farm in Northwest Indiana where we raised cattle, turkeys, and show horses. There came a point in my childhood when I stopped showing horses because of my passion to play softball. I come from a big family, my mom was 1 of 8 kids, and I have over 20 first cousins on my mom’s side. Most of us lived on the farm together. A couple of my favorite adventures include snorkeling in the Bahamas and ziplining in Honduras.
Is there anything personal you wish to share?
Family is everything to me! I recently got married and currently have 2 kids, with another on the way. When my weekends are not filled with activities for the kids, I like to visit my parents and brother in Indiana.
