What inspired you to work at Lantz Financial and when did you join the team?
While I was networking, I decided to reach out to Mike because I saw him listed as one of the best-in-state-advisors on Forbes and that he graduated from North Central. The more I talked with the Lantz Financial Team it became clear that their values and philosophies aligned with my own. The true fiduciary approach to taking care of clients, motivated team culture, and standards of excellence were all aspects I was searching for in a firm, all of which I found at Lantz Financial. I enjoy that Lantz Financial is a real team where everyone helps each other, which I have grown accustomed to in sports. I joined in July of 2023 in a part time role and started full time upon the conclusion of my 5th year at North Central College.
What is your background including any unique skills or characteristics that you want to share?
I graduated from North Central College with a Bachelor of Business Administration in finance and a minor in political science. I decided to major in finance to keep my options open and when I took wealth management with a great professor, I knew financial planning was my future. I ran cross country and track while I was in college, learning Al Carius’ philosophy that had a profoundly positive impact on my life. The work ethic and values I learned in his program have set me up for success for the rest of my life. I am also on the pathway to gaining my CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM certification.
What are one or two things you do for clients on a day to day basis?
I assist the financial advisors with whatever they need for the clients on a daily basis. This includes getting clients through our financial planning process, helping clients get onboard the firm, meeting with clients, and communicating with clients about their portfolio or financial plan. A lot of my time is spent trying to match client goals with the numbers to try to find a solution.
Outside of the office, what would someone find interesting about you?
I enjoy running and train for marathons now that I am post-collegiate athletics. I also enjoy reading philosophy books and autobiographies, my favorite being Shoe Dog by Phil Knight. I also love watching sports as I have somehow become a fan of the Chicago Bears, St. Louis Cardinals, and University of Michigan football.
Is there anything personal you wish to share?
I carry the lessons I learned from distance running in college with me to this day. I am willing to put in the work that others may not because I have seen how it can take a long time for that work to pay off. Believing in delayed gratification and nurturing my work ethic are just two of many lessons I learned from Al Carius.
