Cybersecurity Month
October was declared Cybersecurity Awareness month back in 2004. Over the last twenty years technology has evolved and made our lives easier but also has increased the number of ways a bad actor can gain access to our data and assets. If you haven’t had a chance listen to our latest podcast on cybersecurity for some tips on how to stay safe. Also, remember with all the natural disasters happening, scammers prey on people trying to recover or people trying to donate to disaster victims. Research contractors and get multiple estimates before signing a contract for work. Never pay for a service by gift card, cryptocurrency, or cash. Make sure a charity is legitimate before donating. If you receive an email from a charity asking for donations do not click on any links or open any attachments. If you want to donate, go directly to a trusted, well-known charity’s website. By staying vigilant and being cautious we can still help those in need and protect our own data and assets.
