With the holiday shopping season upon us, it is a good time to change your passwords, especially for your email, phone, financial institutions, and credit cards. Here are some additional tips to help keep you cyber safe:
1. Shop on websites you know and trust.
2. Look for https:// and the padlock to ensure your information is being encrypted.
3. Use your credit card not your debit card because a credit card offers more favorable credit protection.
4. Package delivery/update notifications. Do not click on these. Go directly to the website to track your package or the status of your order.
5. Check your credit card statements for any malicious activity.
It is also charitable giving season. Make sure you vet the charities to which you are donating.
